The short version

GMKtec's new Evo-X1 Pro mini PC pairs AMD's 12-core Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 with an OCuLink port for external graphics cards, starting at $1,599.99 with 64GB of RAM.

GMKtec has launched the Evo-X1 Pro, a compact mini PC built around AMD's Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 processor, a 12-core, 24-thread Zen 5 chip that can boost up to 5.2 GHz. According to Wccftech, this marks GMKtec's first mini PC to use AMD's 'Gorgon Point' silicon. The chip includes the Radeon 890M integrated graphics carried over from its predecessor, which both outlets say is capable enough for gaming and demanding graphical tasks without a discrete GPU.

For users wanting more graphics power, the Evo-X1 Pro includes an OCuLink port supporting external GPUs. TechPowerUp reports this port runs at PCIe 4.0 x4 speeds, delivering 64 Gbps of bandwidth—notably faster than Thunderbolt 4. Wccftech adds that the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 also provides an NPU rated at 55 TOPS, contributing to a combined 86 TOPS of AI performance, and notes the machine ships with GMKtec's proprietary AI software suite, GMKtec Claw, which supports AI agents and local AI applications.

TechPowerUp details the Evo-X1 Pro's cooling and build: a dual-fan, vapor-chamber system said to support up to 65 W of system TDP in Performance mode, housed in a CNC aluminum case measuring 107 x 111 x 63 mm and weighing 590 g. The system is powered by an included 120 W charger. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and 2.5 Gb LAN, with a full port list spanning USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, a USB4 port, OCuLink, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, and dual 2.5G Ethernet jacks. Storage can be expanded up to 16 TB via a second M.2 slot.

Wccftech notes the Evo-X1 Pro's design closely resembles the earlier Evo-X1 AI model, which used the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, though the Pro variant offers more configuration and connectivity options. Notably, GMKtec is not offering a 32 GB RAM configuration for this model—the Evo-X1 Pro starts at 64 GB of RAM paired with 1 TB of storage.

Both outlets report the same base configurations and prices: $1,599.99 for 64 GB of RAM with 1 TB of storage, and $1,769.99 for the 2 TB storage variant. The sources differ slightly on the discount framing—TechPowerUp describes a $700 launch discount built into these prices, while Wccftech describes a smaller $20 discount off list prices of $1,599 and $1,769, set to expire on August 15.
